Well, more people than sharks use vending machines, so that figures...ba da bop! :)
Apologies. It was not my intent to confuse you and a few of the others with my post, and it was completely my fault. Hopefully it didn't cause too much of a problem and going forward, I will strive to be more accurate.

Don't expect much as my struggle with apathy is constant. Been looking for some kind of support group but nobody seems to be able to get one up and running.

Most people will pull over thinking it's a prank and to clean their windshield because they can't see very well. What are you going to do when they stick a 9mm in your face?
This is a fairy tale, however I will be on the look out for bandits carrying a bucket of burnt oil and carrying a 9mm

You won't see them. The post said it was being "thrown from the heights". I'm guessing they meant from an overpass. Like I said before, this is nothing to worry about - just be aware of. It's not an everyday event.

It's not an everyday event right now, and it won't be because there's not so many overpasses to do that. When they throw rocks or pieces of concrete blocks, they do it from the side of the road, and that actually became an everyday event in some places. The point is that they want you to stop your car to be able to rob you, and who knows what they use next time for that. Some years ago they used to block some empty streets in Santo Domingo at night with a big wood log, the point was the same, you stop, they rob you. And that was the worst of all of their methods, because you could not continue driving at all.

It depends. If you don't drive after dark, there's nothing to worry about. If you drive at night from the airport, there's a lot to worry about.
If it happens, put down the window and stick your head out so you can see where you're going and don't stop. If you're driving from the airport, make sure no one is following you. There were several robberies like that at STI not too long ago.

I just don't drive after dark in DR. It helps to avoid most of the problems, be it robberies or crashing into a moped without lights or into a cow in the middle of the road.

in Las Vegas, hookers put some eyedrops in your drink. It can kill you if she puts too much. Apparently, just a few drops and you'll pass out.

Wouldn't they get a bad review for that? Also imagine the casino/hotel would frown on such actions.

A little Google time revealed that ingesting tetrahydrozoline, an ingredient in many eye drops, can indeed be fatal. It doesn't seem to take effect rapidly though, as I understand the info, and it doesn't just "knock you out" so may not be the most effective means for one of these ladies to incapacitate their "date"

Hope you keep sharing when you can! You reminded me of a joke that can be adapted to fit here...I was going to start a group for procrastinators, but I'm going to put it off until tomorrow :)

Sorry no there isn't. I drive around the city a lot at night and there aren't major issues on the main roads.

yes, the casino hotels in co-operation with the police are after those whores who do that
Vegas should do what the third world hotels and Airbnbs do. Client has to walk down with the guest to the front desk upon completion for the guest to pick up their cedula.
