So we had a drive from the airport last night around 2-3am. Through all of SD to San Cristobal in only 40 minutes. No jams, No rocks, no burned oil, drunks or peeing distinguished gentlemen. It was so boring that I suspect I was burandanga’d in the plane.

I think it's much more dangerous during the day, during the week. Traffic is vicious. lmao, "oil in the windshield", I am still chuckling.

You can stop right now with the derogatory statements regarding another DR1 member. Because someone does not agree with your opinion does not warrant your response.
Not gonna happen in my corner of the universe. Stand in the corner for a couple of weeks and think about having a little more respect.

They throw rocks onto windshields on highways for years here (and not only on highways). Usually after 7 PM. No surprise if they invented to throw something else. The purpose is the same, you stop (or lose control of the vehicle and crash), they rob you. Welcome to paradise.
thats why I take a bus or a uber......................

How about driving at night and ending up with a cow in your windshield? I've heard of several of those incidents.

Throwing an object unto the car or disabling a tire at a gas station for example, happens here in the DR, especially to tourists in rental cars. Happened to my Dominican friend and her Swiss husband where they offered a new tire at a close gas station. The girl was familiar with such scams and they took the spare tire all the way to Santo Domingo instead of buying tire, to find out a new tire was not needed and it was an easy fix.

I got robbed of electronics in my back pack at parada Jacaranda where they used a device to stop my car from locking, and a guy followed me while on the phone, probably communicating my location to his partner who went through my back pack and took out the electronics so I wouldn't notice anything stolen right away until I arrived in Santo Domingo. I saw the surveillance video later and it was obviously an experienced routine by professionals.

It doesn't happen often but it does happen consistently enough so that locals are very aware and some drive packing.
