The gentleman carrying the cross received a message from God to plant it in the ocean to somehow counter/stop the effects of the coronavirus in the Dominican Republic.

Note that in one video a politico did not miss a campaign opportunity.

Did they get to bring the cross under water? Too many people not social distancing. I can see this becoming a snorkel tourist spot :unsure: Similar to one in Isla Mujeres, Cancun where they have the statue of their patron saint under water.

They say that one of the main initiators for the CV spread here was that wedding with 500 guests in Punta Cana. What terrible effect will this have, with many more than 500?

This is not his first rodeo with the cross. He has done this before, carrying the cross to the Basilica in Higuey. However deeply passionate he may be and he certainly cannot be faulted for that passion........it is disturbing that so many "dumbinicans" (my wife's term for some in her country) are failing to follow even minimum protocols regarding the virus.

Why?

He is permitted to be in public during the non-curfew hours. As are all the others.

Now "social distancing" is another issue. Where are the firetrucks blasting water on the SD violators?

Besides: arresting this guy would be a major political blunder.
