I alluded to this in another thread -

A few people are suggesting the new gov't will consumed w/ CV19 problems...
Yes , they will

But there are several other dept's that are ready, willing and able to act as well....
Immigration being of them.

The Education minister will be on the school openings
The Immigration minister has already expressed his dissatisfaction w/ the current state of affairs
All agencies apparently will be reducing staff and expenses
There's a lot to be done

I doubt it will be one at a a time
I expect to see a flurry of actions on several fronts....
These boys seem anxious to get at it......

Cross your fingers, buckle your belts, hope for the best

Mr Toad is about to start his wild ride !!!

I would add all our freedom fighter and screw residency members may want to stay home. Hopefully they don't start coming door to door checking temperatures and ID!

Mr Big.....

Place your bets

The new Migracion Minister made a PUBLIC announcement to that effect
Basically saying -
Take me seriously.....

Have look at other countries tightening their borders
Why are we any different ---- or specifically .... why are YOU any different

I hope and expect them to do that.
I don't say that for the ID's, but for Mass Testing.
we urgently need to multiply our daily test numbers since before the elections, but for the elec loosers the elections been way more important than appropriate measures to get control of covid19.
we need 20K tests per day for a while, done in certain areas cut off from the neighbour areas and tracking of contacts has to be part of such plan, so accurate identification of each is a necessary basic.
I don't know what plans they have, we will hear such right after the weekend,
but i am sure that the new Presi will throw out something big in case of covid, to show that voter's choice been the right choice.
colmado closures at 7 or 8PM is sure not the way to go, as already prooven.
I have no clue how the laboratories can test such amount in a reasonable time frame, but mass testing is necessary o get a picture of the whole thing.

Lots of speculation, but one thing is correct. And that is after the weekend things will be a rollin'! And I think it's about time.

People should be tested entering grocery stores, banks and pharmacies. Everyone should encounter a test everyday as they go about their daily business. With real followup of the results informing the people of their test status and forcing them off the streets if they are infectious. This country has to get the new case numbers down significantly and reinvigorate the ability of hospitals to care for the sick.

Seriously. ‘ people should be “ ? I thought you lived in the RD. Go visit places like Jamao and they will tell you “ people should be given food “. Like Creepy Joe would say “ come on man “.

where would you want to find those many tests to do??
by your description i would get myself a number of tests every day, lol.
no country of the planet has that capacity, much less the DR.

I have little doubt they are going to hit the ground running. A week or so to get settled into their new offices and the sparks will begin to fly.
also my thoughts.
during tehnext couple weeks we wil find step by step/day by day some new stuff.
what exactly that will be, we have no clue about it, but we will find out soon.

If I had said that I would have been called a socialist again by the freedon fighters.
