International Channels not on Echo7

I already had the circular LNB installed in order to get the international channels via Anik F3 and this worked all right.

However, when I scanned all the satellites (EchoStar 7,8, 10 and Anik F3) again the other day all the international channels were listed under EchoStar 7 on 119? W.

Subsequently I deleted the Anik F3 satellite from my installation set up as I feel that I don't need it any more.

Of course I did not need to realign the dish as it had always been receiving from 110/119/118.8?...

Ok, since you had the Low Frequence LNB and had Anik3 TP's already in your box that's why you got them again under Echo7, but it's actually still Anik3.

When I install a Low Frequence LNB then I just add one of the many TP's of Anik3 to the list of Echo7 and scan it, once the receiver finds one then it will add the rest by itself. So of course going for example to ProSiebenSat it will show me Echo7, but actually it doesn't matter what Sta name is shown because I could also rename it to something totally different but the programming is still from Anik F3.

Some people believe when they play around and make blind scans that they get more channels because after that they see channels with very different Sat names, fact is that some of these Sats have the same TP frequencies and that's why the frequency is getting scanned again, but will still bring only the channels from the sat where your parabola is pointed to with that frequncy.

Actually it doesn't matter as long we have Free TV, just wanted to make sure we are on the same page.

Regards,
MZ

Didn't have to lift a finger...

I have thought about getting a Nfusion receiver because of this self updating feature via the internet.
But, of course, the receiver needs to be connected to an internet source permanently and this is where the problem lies.
I for one do not want to keep my internet connection on for 24 hours/day. (Other people may even not have a permanent service.)

It's somehow convincing that many users believe that the Nfusion technology is the future of the FTA hobby....

Fortunately, after this latest ECM other receivers were also up again after a few hours. ;)

NFusion is free just like the other FTA receivers. You do need a satellite dish
to obtain the signal. 4000 channels is correct... all free, including PPV, sports, news, movies, adult, international, kids, educational etc. Just to clarify again, you get all the PPV without having to pay for it.

How does TV fare in DR for hardcore American football fans? The one thing I am sure to truley miss once we move there, is my Steelers on TV!

The Steelers are always exiting to watch, I agree.
FTA receivers will decode ALL football events on the tube live, including your favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I have been advised to stay away from NFusion. Big brother can trace you IP and stop by to visit. Especially on the main land.

My Nfusion box was working fine the first 3 weeks then all of a sudden now the electronic guide does not work anymore (does not list programs only channels), plus when I scroll through channels on the guide the picture goes out and the box resets itself (turns on and off).

Does anybody have a similar problem or does someone know how to fix it?

Which bin are you running?
The latest is 145.2. Install it ASAP.
Use webloader to load new bins into Nfusion receiver without the need of a serial cable. Locate the NFusion IP address and login. Use Network magic to locate NFusion IP address of your home network.Read more instructions
at the NFUsion website. No need to disconnect all the wiring any more.

After installing the new bin 145.2 DO A FACTORY RESET using your remote control.
Re-scan all sats. Turn off Emulator.Turn off AUTO EPG update. Press guide, press blue button. Do a manual EPG update every 2 days.
The EPG should download the channel programming.

Note. EPG means Electronic Programming Guide.

I am sorry I am a bit of an idiot when it comes to this technology. I do not install bins, my receiver is hooked up to the internet and it downloads them automatically. Should I still try a 'Factory Reset'?

Factory reset

You can do a factory reset but you must do a re-scan of the satellites to download the channels again. After the factory reset just go to menu, installation, settings and "commit" your sats at the proper switch. Then, when "lock" appears press "search all channels". That's it. The password is 0000

Go to Nfusion Forums Official FTA Site to learn how to install new bins. This is a must.
Generally, you should know what you are doing PRIOR to playing around with the receiver's software. The internet connection updates the codes every 3 minutes (in the background). No new bins are installed automatically off the internet connection.

I think I will just let my satellite guy handle this, as long as it does not need to be done every week. So far, I only needed him once in 3 months which is a huge improvement over the cardless receivers where he had to come twice per week and I was still out of service inbetween sometimes. I just don't have the time to learn this technology, well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
