Sorry I wasn't clear. No, I did not use a porter. One stood at the pay machine and showed me how it worked. Very nice guy. Didn't ask if I needed a porter which I didn't. I had one checked bag, and 2 carry-on. I pushed the cart myself and walked out myself to the yellow cab stand. Not one single problem.

At the scanner people were lining up like sheep flowing to the right. I simply walked up to the desk with the agent ...like I wasn't going to scan.

Yes Big I understand. That's what you're comfortable with. I prefer to go as fast as I can and get home to have dinner without delay.

Same here, but I always travel with a carry-on and nothing else.

I walk through that area like I own the place and out the door.

Don't even look at the scanner machine. Keep your eyes on the man/woman at the desk. Even if they are pointing to the line, walk right up to them give him a BIG "Hola mi amigo" and stay in forward motion.

In my experience, they don't x-ray the bags on flights arriving from the US.

Not sure this will work for someone that has for example 2 bags checked plus a carry on.

Well you have nothing to loose. Worst thing he can do is say get on the line. I want to emphasize he did say--Jetblue? --Yes.---Go. Not sure if that is significant.

Europe
Arriving at Brussels airport, with consequently too much rum in the luggage, I always wait untill some Africans have their carts loaded with luggage and cardboard boxes.
I follow them.
They are always due to inspection, and the customs officers jump on them like hyenas.

Once they asked me to open one of my locked bags.
I told them it was a TSA lock, use their TSA key.
He said he did not have a TSA key and asked me to open one of the other bags instead.

yes they do.....
Ok, based on my experience when I have arrived at SDQ, at customs they ask what flight you were on. The flight from the US did not require that the bags pass through the x-ray scanner. People on flights from different countries did have to send thier bags through the machine.

Again this was based on MY experiences.

Arriving SDQ Sunday, do I rent a baggage cart or pay a person? In either event, what is the cost. Tks

Carts and porters are usually for departures. Trudge thru arrivals from the gate, once outside there are porters and carts. Porters you set price. Cart price? I dunno.

I think that there is a set price to use a porter at SDQ now. The last time I used one, it was 500 pesos from memory. You went with the porter to a desk just when you passed through the customs check and paid there.
