Have used the Mastercard debit from Direct express for years ... never a problem, the money comes on the same day every month...and they have a overseas customer number that answers calls 24/7, and you can look up all your card info on your computer at ..www.us direct express . com you also need to have them turn the card on for this country, and it will always work in the USA.. one think to remember is that some large grocery stores in the DR will charge you $ 4to 6 dollars to use your overseas card, thats in Santiago and I avoid them, and that stimulus money the US is giving out will appear on that card............You can sign up online for SS and opt for a Direct Express Debit Card. The money will go directly on the card every month and you can use it here. But you need to call the company and tell them to open it up here. You can use a mail forwarding address also. But I do not recommend EPS for this at all. They are good for packages, not mail anymore. If you had an address in the US that you can get the card it would be best.

There is also an app for your cell from Direct Express that works well. You can use it and check the app right away to see the transaction on your phone.
Ok. So for now i did get a friend that will get my mail. After I start getting an income I'll have my bank (my bank said they have to send paper account stuff monthly even though Ive havent seen it in many years) and important mail sent to my po box in DR. I will have my ss money deposited in my usa account. I should apply for SS now. I don't need a current passport or drivers license to get my money, just need my SS number. I guess i was just making everything too difficult.
I have cards delivered to a nearby hotel, or my lawyer.... signature req'd.

I have been using if for years. Online have never had a problem. In fact I buy all my airline tickets with it and internet purchases. As for restaurants I rarely use it, but have never been refused when I did. Your friend needs to call Direct Express and let them know the problem.

How do you get them to send the signature required?
Couriers here are always quick to embrace the "USPS says delivered but it really wasn't" mantra over and over again but never with
packages that required a signature receipt.

I recently got my bank and paypal cards sent via my Miami mail. That's no problem. But for ow sending my usa bank statement here is not worth it. It's better for me to have the bank here take out as much as i can via teller then deposit it into my bank here and use that card for withdrawal. It's more economical for all the charges. I just need to work on my SS money.
For the bank cards I pick them up at the airport as they come from the USA.......
