They made it ashore in Sosua - got about 3/4" up the hill over looking Sosua BayYes, lots of thunder but little rain last night
Storms were about 30 miles out in the water
As John Prine wrote in 'Angel From Montgomery':Lots of lightning & thunder
Many expats trying to cope with intermittent electricity and water supply and other living frustrations in the DR can relate to John’s lyrics in “You don’t have to call me darling, darling”.As John Prine wrote in 'Angel From Montgomery':
"If dreams were lightning, and thunder were desire
This old house would have bunt down a long time ago".
And again last night.Yes, lots of thunder but little rain last night
Storms were about 30 miles out in the water
I have one of those
She’s 14 yrs old
Ran away in one a few weeks ago, we gave her up for dead
10 days later she came back exhausted
Someone had her b/c she had lost no weight
Lost one on new yrs nite lucky got him back few days later…now sits and watches them go off..My daughter lost a dog one year on July 4th, never found him. Our DR born rottie doesn’t even raise her head no matter how loud. She’s oblivious.
Looks like more than a foot of water from the recent storms...... and it's raining again now!!!And again last night.
Electrical storms were a bit closer and a lot of rain
What weather we're having..... I hope others are getting the rain they need.........We are !!
Susan Tedeschi’s version was the best.As John Prine wrote in 'Angel From Montgomery':
"If dreams were lightning, and thunder were desire
This old house would have bunt down a long time ago".
I’m partial to Bonnie Raitt‘s cover. Her voice gives the lyrics a special touch. The torrential rainfall is good but it runs off quickly. Every bit helps but what’s needed is normal rainfall over extended periods to fully recharge the aquifers and less extended drought periods. That would benefit DR agriculture the most.Susan Tedeschi’s version was the best.
