The Ministry of Public Health announced the number of confirmed cases has climbed from 34 on 18 March to 72 cases as of the morning of 20 March 2020. There are 301 persons under observation. There are 78 persons in self-isolation, and another 49 are hospitalized.

Public Health Minister Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas explained the jump is primarily because people are now being tested at private labs. She says the cases are mostly of middle class, upper middle class and wealthy people. The explanation is that these are who travel and have access to foreigners who have brought the illness.

He says the sons of Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas and the director of the Port Authority Victor Gomez Casanova have tested negative.

Most cases so far of residents in the National District, Samaná, Santiago and Puerto Plata.

These numbers are not bad when you consider 10,000,000 kissie huggie close quartered sociable people ...I think that the people are doing well here in DR... there are AH's everywhere in every country who will feel them selves above the law... it is they who will cause such a pandemic to mitigate and harm others.. perhaps not only them, but them for sure.
If all were to follow the rules of common sense and edicts of government the results would be much better
And so, we trudge on with a glimmer of hope on the horizon... whence come the vaccine ???

Live safe my friends.
