I will be traveling on AA to Santiago, D. R. from JFK, NY on December 23 (7:00 PM). However, I was not able to get a direct flight and will have to transfer at San Juan, Puerto Rico, to American Eagle. I will arrive San Juan around midnight. But the AA Eagle connecting flight to Santiago DR does not leave until 10:00 AM the next morning! So, I will have to spend the night in San Juan.
My question is, Can anyone on this board recommend a budget hotel or motel near the San Juan, Puerto Rico Airport where I can sleep a few hours before taking my morning flight to Santiago? The cheaper it is, the better. I just need a safe place to sleep for the night that is not too far from the airport.
Does anyone know the approximate taxi fares out of the SJU airport?
I will greatly appreciate any advice.
