Stayed there the first time I visited the capital back in 1983.

IMO probably the best hotel to book in any business visitors in SDO now, and weekend rates are very good indeed. Good restaurants nearby too.

i stayed there few weeks ago. a nice place indeed. my only complaint is a sorry state of the bathrooms. not only because i shared mine with a roach but mainly because they are dated and downright ugly like fcuk. the tiles are old and cracked, fittings are falling apart and stevie wonder would have done a better job with grouting.

They filmed a lot more there than that scene, but the rest was left on the cutting room floor. Mr. AE was a casino dealer at the time, and he was in several casino scenes that never made it to the big screen. It was an Intercontinental hotel back then.

It's a special place to me - I actually met Mr.AE at the Embajador pool on Thanksgiving Day 1975, he came by to say hello to the girl I was traveling with [bigbird, the lady I was with when we met in March]. The rest, as they say, is history.

Dv8. Did your room have a huge closet dressing area? I've been there three times. Not the top club floor. But each room had this huuuuuge closet.

yeah, it was the same size as a bathroom, roughly, on the other side of the entrance. mind you, i liked the hotel in general. bathrooms are pain in the ass to renovate but they are also a true indicator of the quality. a coat of paint can give a hotel room nice and fresh feel but outdated bathrooms are a sign that no real job was done.
