I like Sosua. I drive over once or twice a month. However its like Atlantic City New Jersey. They have tried and tried to repackage and polish the image, Donald Trump threw up his hands and Steve Wynn failed to change the town. Its a run down dirty gambling and hooker town and they cant give away the condos and real estate.

I live south of AC, down the boardwalk in another beach town. Night and day. In my opinion, taking a dumpy town - be it AC or Sosua - and trying to create a silk purse out of a sow's ear, is almost impossible. Punta Cana did it right, they created it in a place where there was nothing before. No existing residents, crime, aging infrastructure, etc.

I wish this hotel group success, but it will be a challenge.

I have been inside several condos there.....those that were for sale and those already owned. Each one is professionally decorated with Italian furnishings. What the pics show is what you see when you visit. Go see! It is really something. I don't know if it will be successful or not, but the place is full of class.

Sosua will never be anything until you see the big chain restaurants moving in. When I see a McDonalds on one of the corners...then maybe I will believe.

Appears that the builders of Ocean Village took all the profit possible and now have found buyers with some bucks who think it is possible to make more. According to a few here the ultra high end real estate market in Sosua is red hot. We will see.

I defer to people who might know more about their target markets than I do

Tambo, the photos on the fb page aren't virtual I don't think, just photoshopped a little more than average.
The place looks good. I only doubt it's future success as a high end destination due to the lack of high end venues in Sosua to keep the clientele happy.
