Now I understand, no wonder there are no corrupt officials in his government, that's what the decentralised entities are there for... Smart... :)

This exact thing was just on the radio, an interview with one of the guys posing questions to his at brunch at the Palace ayer.

He was apparently VERY defensive in his responses, answered the same question with different answers at different times, and yes as this suggests, blamed it on de-centralised entities.

And who supervises the de-centralised entities....? The Govt? blame can go round and round here... but this current govt has lost the plot, and without swift and decisive action, I can see things getting worse with the unrest, problems, violence etc....

and we all know that if that starts, tourism shrinks, businesses close down and move out, and that's the tip of whole messier iceberg..

Leonel needs to wake up, lead by actions and not words and do something definitive. The problem seems to be that the action he need to take would involve jailing his golf buddies.... and he doesn't want to tee off alone....

Saying that, isn't the season to p**s away RD$millions in political campaigning about here now......??

"Sod the electric, corruption etc... we need to get re-elected....get down the barrios with free beer, music and some salamis...."

But it is not only Leonel, the other political parties are not better at all. They all understand being a politician is a license to fill their and their families and friends pockets as much as possible for the four years time they get, before the other bunch tries to take over again and so on...
