Omnisalud Colectivo: Milestone for telemedicine in the DR

Miguel Coronado, representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the Dominican Republic, and Dr. Jose Yunen, president of the Yunen Group, have agreed to create the “Omnisalud Colectiva”, a multi-channel telemedicine platform to offer health services focused on Covid-19.

As part of actions taken for the prevention, containment and mitigation during the Covid-19 pandemic, the initiative will offer patient diagnostics and monitoring. It will also help with the creating of forecasting models to assess Covid-19 in the Dominican Republic.

In a first phase, Omnisalud Colectivo can cover 50,000 people. It will be open to persons with low-income government health plans and those who are not enrolled in any health insurance plan.
