Unless proven otherwise, that sounds like something an Orange-employee would say without knowing the truth. I have visited a number of stores, and have heard quite a few things that I know simply are not true, as I use them since a few years...
I?d recommend just trying to recharge and activate a new data package (with the same link I posted) when you have finished using the first package, and seeing what happens.
As said, I have purchased nothing new from Orange for years (so things might have changed for new customers), but I know they somethings know nothing about nothing...
