How much should I pay as an overstaying fee if I entered the country on August 24, 2021 and I'm leaving on May 15, 2022?

Does that count as 8 months or 9 months? I'm asking because the difference in fees between 8 months and 9 months is 1000 pesos i think.
Just wondering how much pesos I should bring with me at the airport.

Edit: I meant "8 months + 3 weeks" in the thread title.

Does the overstay fee calculated from your entry date or from your 31 th day in the DR?

This was discussed on another thread a long time ago and the conclusion was that the time periods start from the date of entry. That's been my experience travelling, also.

Thank you, this is what I thought but could not confirm it.

Just coming here to stay that I left the country after a total stay of 8.5 months and paid 4000 pesos.

I was expecting questions from Migracion like "Why did you stay here so long as an illegal tourist? DON'T YOU KNOW IT'S ILLEGAL?!", but nope, no questions asked.
They just made me pay the fee and that's it.

Have you re-entered since then?
