Other than demolishing the old school and installing a park, nothing is going to happen. Even Luis said it.

A marina facing a cat 5 hurricane? I don't think so.

A bridge across the entrance of the Ozama river? Thumbs down to that too.

A tunnel from Lincoln to the Malecon? Nope.

I cannot even imagine a tunnel from Ave Lincoln to the Malecon. I guess my question would be why?

it would be coming from Lincoln, go down under the Malecon and lead to the left, and come back up and merge with Malecon traffic.

Doesn't make sense to me either.

Which do you think is busier going toward the Malecon, Ave Lincoln or Maximo Gomez? I know they are coming in toward the Malecon from different areas more or less, but I normally would take one or the other when going to toward the Malecon. Maximo Gomez for me was worse than Lincoln.

I can see the need for an extra bridge over the Ozama and connecting the Malecon directly to Av Espana seems logical. It would take off the load on the 27 and Puente Flotante crossings which are choked. But it will be a very costly project and the Malecon itself would become even more congested unless they have a better solution for that. Maybe a tunnel but that will be costly too. It is a domino effect.

The marina is Dubai level wishing and spending, that money better be spend on more important issues.
Some of these ambitious projects are like putting up a first world facade while the existing third world problems are still ignored.

A bridge as big (the towers) they are planning to make right next to the Colonial Zone is too much of a risk to its UNESCO category as a World Heritage Site. The best thing there would be a tunnel connecting SDE’s malecon with SD.

There is the Mella Bridge (in reality two parallel bridges) near the Colonial Zone, but it isn’t overpowering. Also, it’s dark colors helps in taking away its attention from the Colonial Zone.

Btw, those drawings are preliminary and not definite. What is built most likely will be different.

I agree a tunnel would be more appropriate, and they have the equipment to do it.
