kind of ironic... those who want Sosua to stay how it is are going to do the most to change it by staying away. they'd be better off organizing trips and filling up the planes to the north coast... trust me there'd be a handful of girls in town for each of them upon arrival.

instead they're individually and by group think deciding to stay away. that's what will change the town the quickest. if there's any 'golden goose' killing to go on, they'll be doing it

no doubt the mayor would be cheering you on with your talk... perhaps she's posting here under a pseudonym. good job and brilliant thinking, guys :tired:

i would like to see these walls. my dominican-york friends find this whole ordeal funny and entertaining. during the holidays when they go home they said they were going to drop by sosua just to see.
i agree with rsg (that's a first !!) that the unescorted girls should have a time when they can be in the bars.
DR-commuter, you forgot to mention CMP.
do these same rules apply to the casinos like playa chiquita and the casino by sosua bay ?

And I love you too Kyle....

I'm outa here

Lets not jump the gun here..Many of the things said be people, including myself is based on pure speculation and guessing..We really don't know what is going to happen with this situation in Sosua..

And we all know about the Dominican way of doing things, and they may do a complete 360 in thinking tomorrow. My opinion is that there will always be girls and tourist` who want them. But we all probably agree that a little clean up is good for Sosua..Lets just hope that there is a happy medium here....

Mayor plans to clean up Sosua getting rid of girls and lowlifes.

Guys that like the girls get mad and say "I'm leaving Sousa and never coming back".

Conclusion: mayor's plan is working as planned.
Why Is it that a guy is a lowlife because he chooses to spend his vacation in the company of girls in Sosua..But it is ok for all of those So called Dominican elite class Gentleman to take thier little Barrio chicas to the Cabanas..

You do what you like SosuaSam, and dont put down others for what they choose to do on vacation..And like you never sampled the chicas on Sosua:ermm:..

The thing here most don't get is that Sosua as of now was not the Sosua that invited untold numbers of first tourists to the DR. The changes in Sosua have been drastic, to say the least.

Sosua was a beautiful place to relax and visit back when it was a small tourism attraction; Sosua never looked like the one today, full of putas and cancerous dark holes called bars...

You need time perspective to understand where these Dominicans trying to change the Sosua of today come from. Sosua was a popular spot, both with the low and the upper classes alike back then.

You need to be crazy to take your young family for R&R to the Sosua of today.

Those that today are fuming at the "loss" of their putas and "happy" biz in Sosua can take solace that Haiti will be soon booming again. Just like they had the sex-tourism industry of the 60's and 70's.

There's a new Sheriff in town, either get with the program or find a new sexvacation heaven further north or south!

I enjoyed my 4 trips to Sosua in past 2 years and honestly hate to see it change. I wasn't hassled to the point of being aggravated, nor did we have to look very hard to have fun. It was simply what we decided to make of the given situation, be in "Po city" outside Subic 20 years ago or present day Hamptons, you find what you look for

I can however understand the frustration of ex pat residents who have seen the down "decline" from the 80's, what one person looks for in a town (Wild bars and women) are not necessarily what others have chosen as their retirement haven (Warm weather, great beaches and good restaurants)

I hope Sosua is able to re invent itself before all the small businesses are forced to close, if the Govt wants to build up the infrastructure and support a more family oriented atmosphere it can be done, Sosua already has the one element you can't buy :LOCATION

If you are to walk in Santiago, SD or any other spot you'll find all that's "offered" in Sosua (not beach though) but discreet!

Sosua had turned into an anything goes town, where putas fighting it out for a client became the most casual of things on the streets.

There's a balance for everything, as such this new administration is looking for a solution. Some actions will seem drastic and draconian at first, because they are! But once they find the effective balance to do it, things will go much smoother for all there.

Sosua is out of balance and needs ground rules to become once again a lively town.
