Yea, and so feh, already, to the whiners complaining about no biz bc of the barrier. There was no barrier tonight, and you still could have had 9 lanes of bowling from the Playerito corner to Calle Dr. Rosen. It's LOW SEASON, people. And Americans are terrified of zika. My sister was just on vacation in St.Kitts/Nevis and the staff in their hotel said that tourism is down there, as well, bc of those fears. Add the current horrific international climate of nowhere being safe, (as in ISIL bombs Baghdad?), don't blame bad biz on PC on the street closing. It's a bigger picture.

I sadly agree that things in Sosua will get much, much worse before it gets better. But it is my home, and I am sticking with it through thick and thin.

Zika may be playing a factor. The wife and I would be coming next month if it was not for Zika. She is pregnant though so really not an option. If she was not we would still come. People I speak to though speak of Zika like the plague.

Agreed. I know several families, couples and a large company convention who all cancelled trips to DR over Zika.

I also know several people who have had it, while we were there and since we returned. Not as bad as dengue or ChickV - unless, of course, one is pregnant. I'm way past that possibility.

It sort of is. And it seems as if all of the "experts" don't really concur on all of the repercussions.

I am devastated not to see you guys next month! Just when I wanted more pastrami.....XOXOX

Do you approve of bands or dislike them? Your post isn't clear on that.

taxistas talking how unhappy the tourists are regarding the situation in sosua:
http://noticiaspop.com.do/federacio...stan-yendo-sosua-cierre-calle-pedro-clisante/

Domingo Ortiz "head taxista" tends to get a little carried away:

"Dijo que los vuelos de Jetblue, est?n llegando vacio debido a que los turistas que salen de Sos?a les informan a sus compa?eros y relacionados de que no se puede salir luego de las 12:00 de la media noche."

In the summer I fly jetblue from POP quite often and have yet to see an empty flight, I would be happy with half full, haven't seen it yet. And jetblue added three late night flights on the weekends from June through Sept. Even those flights are crowded. I haven't been on a jetblue POP flight in years with more than a few empty seats.

Anyway, Pedro Clisante is no longer being closed to traffic in the evenings.

Barriers sawn off at night

The opposition to the closure of a part of the Pedro Clisante for traffic and to the closure of several bars increases. Recently, at night the three barriers to close the street to traffic in the evening, have been sawed off by people unknown.

The officers of the National Police now have the task to act as barriers and have their police cars parked at the entrances to the street. The officers will make sure that no car or bike can pass the checkpoint. Now it is low season, but by these actions of the government (closure bars and close street) there are even less visitors in the otherwise bustling nightlife street. The entrepreneurs in Sos?a now complain bitterly about the demise of the business and there is already talk of retaliation. The sawing off of the barriers is an example. It's not just the bar owners and their staff who are suffering under this government, also shops, barber shops, hotels, restaurants, beauty salons, motoconchos and taxis are suffering severely under this policy.

The barriers of the mind

Too get rid of scabies you must use sulfur soap and a lotion comprised of 5% bug poison - Closing the street and bars at 12 is the soap and poison - hopefully the bad itching of mongers in Sosua will be gone soon enough.

You would make a great hellfire preacher and questioner in the inquisition.
Now there was real perversion.

The real people behind the raids are not hiding from anyone, it is the ADSS and they made it clear that they want to recover
Sosua`s old charm as a family destination. The problem is the tourists that come to Sosua and post lots of videos and photos
publicizing the town as a sex haven, look where it is today when you do a search online. If guys keep their business private as
most do in other places, Sosua can take a leap back to normal life. This article sums it up: https://www.sosuaevents.com/sosua-changes-july-2016/

edward360, there is a conspiracy theory that "an as yet to be named mysterious business with deep pockets" paid the proper people off to support the clean up. I don't think we are going to dispel that conspiracy theory with a simpler and more concise explanation.

Very good link you posted. I doubt the whore mongers will believe the part about how Sosua changed from a family destination to a monger destination. They certainly do not believe it could turn from a monger destination to a family destination.
