So is there really an investigation??? Meaning has he really disappeared......

Because nowadays with cellphones, CC and passports it is real hard to disappear voluntarily.... and the dr is an island. Unless of course he is on his patio sipping a cocktail.
And how come we havent heard about it in the newspapers, here or abroad ??
Very comfusing really.

I can't login to their reservation system on their homepage any more. I wonder if my reservation (with payment in advance) for 2015 is still effective.

That he's missing there's no doubt.(hasn't been seen or heard of since Nov 6th) The question is where is he? That is what the investigation is about.

Mr. Lewis treated his employees well and most have worked in perla for years. Why would he sell his properties and tell no one about it?

I sort of predicted that yesterday on a different thread... i.e. bookings would dwindle. Unfortunately they have stopped completely.

If it is true that the property has been sold then the new owners should reach out to you very soon.

Why would someone who ran an ongoing concern for years fail to mention a transition to new ownership to put loyal clients at ease? Everyone who has done business with Lewis knows how he handles reservations and payment. New ownership would also be very interested with keeping loyal clients.

Nonsensical, really.

Possibly to avoid paying liquidacion/other debts?

Why pay liquidation if the building is an ongoing concern? The new owners would simply take over with employees in place.

It is one of Lewis' employees that stated the building was sold. No one was fired, there is no liquidation to pay. The onus is on new ownership to pay employees.

Oh no maybe those famous Sosua kidnappers are up to their old tricks again. Has anyone thought about looking in Boca chica?

Reminds me how much I miss Rocky / Marco DR1 posts. :(

Several tweets concerning Lewis disappearance are now being tweeted through the perla de sosua web page. The originator of the tweets is also an active business in DR. Serious business, with an embassy contact name and number.

Other meager, and perhaps meaningless facebook and internet observations.

Lewis is a very regular facebook poster but hasn't posted since November 6th.

The employee is a regular facebook poster who has gone silent since 10/23.

The boyfriend of the employee is a regular facebook poster who announced that he had a business transaction coming up and
would be going offline. His last post was 10/26. He has since removed his business transaction post as of this morning. Of course, posts like that don't really disappear. They are on a server somewhere and can be easily located.

So, all three have gone silent. First, the employee. Then the employee's boyfriend. Then Brent Lewis.

The umbrella internet booking company has posted "missing" information on all of its facebook sites.

Outside of the internet, the boyfriend was seen driving Lewis' van after November 3rd, the employee stating she couldn't drive and needed to buy stuff for the hotel.

Employees aren't being paid according to one poster here, and both on this site and a facebook page there are complaints of reservations not being honored.

Of course, there is a likely plausible explanation for all of this, but I am confounded as to what that might be at the moment.

Complaints from potential customers have started streaming in

"This company just stole my money and many other peoples. They say they changed ownership and now will not honor reservations. They expect you to get back money from previous owner which will of course be impossible. Never pay ahead in the county."

Agreed. The employee doesn't know how to drive. Her and her boyfriend were seen in the van on Nov 3.
If its documented that Brent's last Facebook page post was on Nov 6, the police (as I am sure they are doing) should
be talking to anyone who had contact with Brent between Nov 3 and Nov 6. A lot of things can happen in a three day window.

I don't know the boyfriend nor have I ever met him. I do recall hearing the name Fixit while living in Sosua. When I first heardthe name I thought it was some type of gimmick. Like a computer repair or specialty shop of some sort.

Sometimes people get jealous of one another posting on Facebook. I'm not saying this is the case but it's
certainly a plausible explanation as to why two individuals who are in a relationship with each other
would stop posting on facebook around the same time.

I am sure at some point the mystery of Brent's disappearance will be solved and if the police determine any foul play
was involved they will move forward according to the facts.

With that in mind, I believe it is extremely bad judgement on the original
poster/ disgruntled ex-employee's behalf to create a thread on DR1 to make it sound as if my friend
(pictured with her daughter) is some how involved. Someone could see her out in public with her daughter an attempt
to do harm to either of them without knowing all of the facts simply because of the original thread.

This is probably why... "Why are the threads about Perla de Sosua being removed?"

Are you sure about that? When I took over an apartment building, the previous owners paid the employees liquidacion and their employment started anew with me. And even if it weren't liquidacion, who knows what other debts could be being avoided and what has happened to the potential guests' deposits?

I thought the same thing. No way would I buy a business without the seller liquidating all the employees, that would entail a potential tremendous future debt to the buyer.

And if I DID buy the hotel, the first thing I would do is update the web page with all the information and maybe even offer some kind of "special" for new bookings during a certain period. To say and do nothing is very odd.

Strange indeed! And don't think that the investigators haven't taken all this into account.

I wonder why the disgruntled employee would go to such lengths to try to find the missing boss who fired him?

That's a very curious thing.

Where did your friend take Lewis on 11/3? It's a fairly easy thing to verify since Lewis had to be driving. After all, she doesn't know how drive... and she needed a driver after Lewis left the van, so her boyfriend and Lewis had to have visited the same place, right? Perhaps at different times...Lewis left the van, employee is stuck and can't drive, calls her boyfriend to drive. Or maybe her boyfriend was waiting where Lewis stopped. Who knows, eh? The employee knows.

What day did the property sale take place? November 3rd?
