Chamber of Deputies reelected deputy Faustina Guerrero (El Seibo – PRM) is pushing for the passing of a bill that would order the Ministry of Education to order obligatory personal defense classes for girls and teenagers, ages 10 to 17 years, in schools all around the Dominican Republic. The classes are to ensure that the girls have mechanisms for their protection. The Ministry of Education would implement the project.
Guerrero said she was motivated to submit the bill because of the daily stories on disappearances and violence to women.
Faustina Guerrero (Grey Maldonado) from El Seibo (PRM) was reelected for the PRM but faces charges in the judiciary for being part of an alleged international cocaine trafficking network (Operacion Falcon).
