Pizzarelli in Punta Cana Village... Terrible

I can go with ham, maybe even pineapple, but corn does not belong on a pizza in my book. I buy supermarket pizzas here in Miami and add stuff to them: red and green bell peppers and onions, sliced thin on a mandolin, black olives, the occasional jalape?o, mushrooms and then Publix 6 cheese Italian shredded cheese, and bake it in the convection oven. It never comes out greasy. I prefer loose sausage (prenuked) to ham. It is all a matter of taste, in any case.

I don't like shrimp on a pizza. Dominicans tend to be somewhat unkind to shrimp and conch.

Is Pizzarelli the best pizza I've ever had in my life? No. But it's also not the worst by far. It's a little local shop here in the village, and you really either take it or leave it. If you don't like it, no worries, there's a Pizza Hut about 18 km away, have a ball. We have 'Pizza Friday' every week where we walk up, enjoy some wonderful pizza as a family, wander over to the playground so my son can play, and then wind up at Punta Cava for some after pizza adult beverages before walking home again. It's a family outing without the need to hop in the car, and I suppose that's a huge part of the allure. That's the big thing about the Village, at least for us. It might not have every single thing, but it's got enough if you're willing to accept it as it is, and enjoy it for what it is.

I'll also point out that I certainly encourage anyone to agree with the OP and find other pizza places to eat at. The seating in Pizzarelli is limited and the fewer folks in there on a Friday night the better. I hate crowds. ;)

Looove sweet corn on pizza... tried it for the first time 17 years ago on El Conde and have ordered it since then. LOVE!

Worst "pizza" has got to be the Provel Pizza seen in the mid west, esp in St Louis. To think they have franchises that sell that stuff... Provel Is not even legally classified as cheese.

Oddly, I can see this selling in the DR..

When I was in Estonia, you could get beets on your pizza!
