Police arrest three in “devil’s acid” crime

The National Police arrested three persons accused of severely burning a 19-year old woman with Plomerito “devil’s acid.” The substance is used to unclog toilets and domestic plumbing. It has been used as a criminal weapon in crimes of passion and revenge.

Yocaira Amarante Rodriguez was seriously burned when about to board a public transport vehicle by two on a motorcycle. The Police accuse her former spouse of contracting the two who carried out the crime on 25 September 2020. The Police said that 33-year old Willy Antonio Javier Montero, Pedro Alexander Sosa Mendez and Joan Jose Felix were arrested in the crime. Felix is accused of throwing the acid at the young woman. Javier Montero is the former spouse and father of her 2-year old daughter. The Police said he paid RD$3,500 for the service. He argued that it was a crime of...

A lot of these girls do go willingly. If you want to argue that at 14 she's to young to give legal consent, that's another story. The problem is, this is pretty much accepted in Dominican society, or at least most turn a blind eye to it.

Totally agree! This is not a domestic or spousal assault type situation after a drunken argument. This is a vicious assault calculated to permanently disfigure someone. A very long prison sentence is in order as rehabilitation is futile.

this topic is about the Crime throwing acid in the face of a woman because she left her boyfriend.
and it was nothing out of a reflex or such, it was a planned and paid for Attack/Assault.
the guys involved doing the crime have to get the maximum sentence for assault and attempted murder
and the ex-boyfriend double of that for planning and ordering the crime, as he paid the azzholes to do the shit.

what to do about Barrio Children, who's parents (IF they life with at least one of their parents in the 1st place anyways) have no clue about where they are during the days and nights and with whom they hang out with starting by the age of10 (and often earlier),
that would be a completely new separate Topic, and a long and interesting one,
as that topic then covers the whole 9 yards of poverty and non-existent education, a world most on our forum have not really an idea about.
