If you have the Policia app on your cellphone, they have an option to report noise.
I have used it a few times, and in every case the noise stopped within a half an hour here in San Cristobal.

I leave it to my neighbors and yes, it gets immediate results.
You think that they do not tell them but anyone who has lived in the DR for a long time knows different. Dominicans have a certain way of saying things that are bothering them while getting their point across, giving looks, etc... I am not sure what areas some of you are in, but the police have stepped up their "anti-noise" campaign. And this has been happening for a bit now.

I just wanted to see what have changed there out of curiosity, last time I was there 10 years ago, it's not my thing to visit such a shIthole place more often. The 'music' is blasting on the beach there from hotel's speakers, bar's speakers, boat's speakers, etc. All day long, starting at 10 AM. Then a hotel has a 'show' at night until 11 PM, then the bar continues until 1 PM. You go in the evening on the street next to the beach, the same noise is blasting from some bars that are still open there (looks like only a few left, everything looks abandoned comparing to what was there 10 years ago or 20 years ago) and from colmados, you try to say what you want to buy to the guy in colmado, he doesn't hear you because the 'music' is so loud.
If somebody lives there (honestly I don't understand how somebody can live in Boca Chica) and for him the noise is not a problem, what can I say? I can say that person can live a very happy life in DR.
Yep. Actually on the second evening the 'show' in the hotel did not happen because of a very strong rain, all those people already came to the stage to enjoy the noise, and the rain started, they were soooo disappointed, I was laughing really loud looking at them, the hotel staff had to cover all speakers so they don't get wet. Then I went to the beach, I was sitting under umbrella and it was 30 minutes of silence, just the sound of rain, such a relief

I think what some of us are trying to say is that while the DR can be "noisy", some areas more than others. It is nowhere near what one poster would like us to believe. It is also not believable that Dominicans do not speak up about the noise, that is 100% not true. It is hard to believe someone would continue to live in the DR when they have such negatives opinions about the country regardless of what they claim. When someone posts constant negativity, their opinions start to become void of any truth or meaning.
