Porsche driver says he was wrong in speeding off

The owner of the Porsche that almost ran over a traffic cop is a car dealer owner in eastern Santo Domingo. Luis Johann Nieto Ramirez says he has been in the business for 17 years.

On Saturday, 4 September 2021, he was captured on video evading speaking with a traffic cop who had ordered him to stop. He refused to lower his window.

He now has charges against him for attempted homicide. In an interview with Mañanero TV his lawyer says his client should be accused at most of “fearless driving,” (manejo temerario) which implicates two to five public official minimum wages fine. Nieto Ramirez says there was no attempt at homicide, as he has been charged in the Prosecutor Office. The lawyer Manuel Soriano says no charges have been placed against his client. The vehicle was voluntarily turned in to the Digesett for the investigation. The investigation could include viewing the street cameras for more details. The lawyer has deposited their version of what happened.

"The actual reason why the Digesett stopped the Porsch is not known. Initially it was reported, the vehicle did not have a license plate. But a check of the video shows that it had a license plate, so this could not have been the reason."

From the article... interesting... DIGESETT has been quite a bit in the news recently, and not in a good light...

These guys thinks they are over the law, so with enough money in there pockets they can managed every "problem" in there way. You can see this attitude every weekend on Lincoln street at night, when you have a luxury car (or in most of the cases daddys car) you want to be seen in it, so the Lincolnroad is the catwalk. There are no streets in this country where you can really try out the power of a porsche or another sportcar. The most (young) drivers hadn't any experience to drive those cars and when they go crazy at night most of them ended in the morgue.

Or maybe he just didn’t want to pay another propina today and floored her.. :cool: most of us just gracefully drive by..;)
