President Abinader attends major trade training program graduation

President Luis Abinader attended the graduation ceremonies of a social program carried out by his Social Policy Cabinet and called “Opportunity 14-24.” This is an educational program that is aimed at young people that are at risk due to poverty or other factors.

There are over 100 of these training facilities around the country that prepare these young people for entry into the labor market by providing real life skills that are desirable in the marketplace.

During this ceremony, over 4,500 students from all of the different parts of the country graduated. They received training in 59 trade career paths, such as PC and cellphone repairs, woodworking, welding, hairdressing and barbershop operations.

Thousands of "ninis" were created during the Covid school closers as many never
returned to class.
These are the same young adults who may very well end up robbing you, stealing from you
and perhaps even killing you at some point in the future.

It's always a mystery to me when I see a group of young people at 11 am on a workday just hanging out each one with a Presidente in hand, I always wonder where does the money come from? They can't all be atracadores or drug dealers neither, and they living in poor barrios so it's not the parents giving them money. I wish I could be a nini too! 😎
