President Luis Abinader suspends eight for not presenting their worth statements on time

Dominican law requires high-ranking government officers to present their worth statements when entering and leaving a government position that handles financial transactions. The Abinader government has promised to comply with the laws. In a symbolic move, President Luis Abinader announced the suspending of eight officers who did not comply with the requirement. The officers will not get paid until they regularize their status. Most of the officers work in the agriculture area of government. Reportedly, more than 1,500 new government officers did not present their statements on time.
