Yeah, a friend of mine lived there for a while in a pretty big house and her boyfriend had to shoot his pistol in the air a couple of times at night when there were attempted robberies. At least back then it was not a safe place. And they were Dominicans, not gringos...Just buy a shotgun and keep handy at night.
You habitually dismiss these events as if they simply do not matter or don't happen...it is an odd perspective....it is your right of course, but a peculiar denial habit that must serve some purpose for you; best of luck, sir.20 yrs not one problem or my friends..shit happens most of time storyline behind it..
Dismiss really..I’ve been here over 25 yrs seen the area develop from farm land goat path to civilization.. you look for trouble in DR you won’t have look far.. I’ve seen far worse in rest of Sosua and cab then la Mulata where over 2000 expats and snowbirds live..You habitually dismiss these events as if they simply do not matter or don't happen...it is an odd perspective....it is your right of course, but a peculiar denial habit that must serve some purpose for you; best of luck, sir.
No, that's the price for land in Sosúa, I would even consider it cheap. In Los Castillo which is like 5 minutes outside of "main" center of Sosúa, the asking price is around $100/square meter or higher. So 500 square meters there would have been $50000 or more. So it's not so crazy that a place closer to the center would be even more expensive.Insane a Dominican guy I meet last week in Sosua is trying to part out a couple tareas de tierra located up on the hill on the road by the Playero and La funeraria.
He was asking me $40. Thousand Dollars for a 500 square meters lot.
Is him nut or what?

Yes I know that, my parents bought three tareas de tierra 40 years ago in Palo Blanco Jarabacoa, they bought the land from a man (Nicanor Pineda) whom was parting out a finca that was perfectly located at the bottom of the mountain with water creek in the center right on the road. The idea was to develop a tourist area for people who was looking to build retirement or vacations residence. The parcela was properly deslindada. The projects never was completed, over the years another rich man from Santo Domingo bought the entire parcela from Nicanor Pineda and our portion of land was enclosed in his property 😕 which was not a problem because by law I was allowed to open the gate and gain access to my property and did it many times for years... I used to go from time to time on the weekends to pick up tayotas which used to wildly grow over.So he had a large piece of land, correct?
And he wanted to sell you a part of it, correct?
Then you must know this,
His complete large peice of land must be completely deslinded BBEFORE HE CAN SUB DIVIDE and sell you a part of his land
If his large peice of land is not completely deslinded and he is trying to sell you a part of this land...then he is scamming you
No idea but in Soaua you will get better deal buying a small condo. What is the price of land per square meter for a typical small lot in some of the barrios here on the north coast?
It's for a Dominican that's looking for a 300 square meter solar and probably can't afford a small condo. No idea but in Soaua you will get better deal buying a small condo.
