Camu
Hola DR1'ers, My husband and I oversee a new foundation in Camu, outside of POP. It is a home for vulnerable girls. Currently, we have one girl, aged seven, and are sending her (afternoons only) to the public school in town. As an educator, I am saddened by the number of missed days and the overcrowding. I have been reading about the different private schools in POP, and would love the input of people (especially Dominicans) who can give us more info. Suley is learning English here at the house (as she perfects my Spanish), and so I am not super committed to the school being solely English-speaking. She needs robust work in math and, actually, Spanish. We work with her in a "homeschooling" situation on math and Spanish (she doesn't know how to read yet) in the mornings, but I don't think this will continue to be a feasible option when we have more girls. Thanks very much, Julie

I plan to move to the UK next year. Who can recommend a good private school in London? My son is 14 years old
This website is about the Dominican Republic. Although we have British posters, they may not be up to date on schools in London.

Dominicans enjoy similarities with Brits on the other hand. For example, both have poor dental hygiene.
A nice generalization here, so can I kindly beg to differ? I don't know a single Dominican who would not be utmost dedicated to cleanliness inside and outside their being... They might lose other things, but they always know where the toothbrush and paste are...

While you may well know different kinds of people, best not to state things so broadly? Thank you!

As a Brit with poor dental hygiene and a poorly defined jawline (apparently) I would suggest Eton, Harrow, Westminster, Dulwich College as schools which cost the most in London and produce the most useless politicians. I have never heard of any Dominicans being students there, although there may have been. I think most moneyed Dominicans send their kids to top American schools if they can afford it.
