The end result will be that Sinovac will be accepted the same as the other vaccines for any proof of vaccination.
With the possible exception of any such proof needed in or by the USA. I am seeing no movement in the USA regarding Sinovac being approved, and I doubt there ever will be that approval.

The USA is not the only country in the World today. Some of us enjoy going elsewhere.....If the EU approves it that will be good enough. The USA will never have Covid passports to enter anyway. But the EU might well have them.

Both the EU & WHO are reviewing it..... says the article in #439
--------------------------------------------------

The announcement from the Amsterdam-based agency came a day after a top World Health Organization official said the WHO is set to decide this week whether to approve two Chinese COVID-19 vaccines for emergency use.

Nor should there be approval unless its efficacy and complications go through the Western World's standards of testing for vaccines. I doubt China will pay for that.

Recognition of the Sinovac vaccine by the WHO and the EU would be a good news start for the people of the DR who have been vaccinated and wish to travel intentionally as vaccine status is going to become more important as time goes on. We'll have to see what the WHO and the EU decide. If the decision is positive perhaps the rest of the world will follow.

IF we had choices? Here in the D.R. and many.... many other countries we don't get to pick and choose. As many CDC and WHO have stated "take whatever you can get.". Rather be 65% protected then 0%.
I'm very aware that very little is reported about Sinavac and that's troublesome. But since the other major producers and highly desired vacs have all gone to the highest bidders and NOT fulfilled their contracts with us poor; thankful for what we can get.

I originally thought the world could be vaccinated during 2021. Now I am seeing that was an optimistic prediction.
Even by the end of 2022 will be a push. By then we will know more about the need for booster shots, which are already
being predicted. That along with the mixing of different vaccines for better efficacy, etc.

CV19 is here, there and everywhere to stay.

Unfortunately, the front of the train is racing to collide with it's rear end. Worldwide, still trying to get jab 1 done while a booster maybe ?? needed. U.k already setting up booster plans before Christmas.
2 mil. more Sinavac doses coming this week. Other contracts not filled and ignored.
At the blackjack table. I have a 65% chance of winning (vaccinated) vs an unknown down to 0%.
Place your bets.

Can we affect any of this ourselves? None of us is qualified to have a fact or evidence based opinion. None of us can do much more than decide to wear a mask or not, to isolate or not, to social distance or not and to travel or not.

I don't care what any of you choose to do as long as it does not affect me and will defend myself and my home....vigorously. LOL

I take great amusement in all your "opinions" that you fight to the death over and for what? That's rhetorical ;)

Luckily for you I've more or less quit even reading most threads here, and when I do it's for amusement only. I've convinced myself that I'm wasting my energy and have channeled it into a side hustle that is actually making me some pesos LOL

Me, I'm a Rocker LOL :p

On Friday June 7 the WHO approved Sinofarm for emergency use. They are expected to approve Sinovac next week.
These approvals will allow distribution to all under development countries as well as to fill shortages of other vaccines in all countries if thier government's allow it.
Great news for the pro-vaccine people.

Don't agree Windy.

I would probably be classified by others as an anti-vaxer, which I'm not. I just don't want to be forced into taking it. If you want to take it, that is your decision and not mine.
You do realize there was an anti-vax movement before CV19 showed up and some mRNA vaccines were developed?
The anti-vaxer movement does not support any type of vaccines.

Your particular stance regarding risk versus reward is not the issue for one single disease.
Feel free to do as you wish. In today's society anyone can "identify" with whatever they like to be.

Yes, I understand. I'm an old white male but I identify as a kitchen appliance. I'm transblender.
