Prosecution presents case against Tampa Bay slugger Wander Franco Aybar in child sex abuse trial

Prosecutors have concluded their presentation of evidence against suspended Tampa Bays’ slugger Wander Samuel Franco Aybar and Martha Vanessa Chevalier Almonte, the mother of a teenage victim of sexual abuse, wrapping up with the presenting of 165 pieces of evidence of wrongdoings.

During the fourth day of the trial, which includes charges of child sex abuse against Franco Aybar and charges of sexual exploitation and money laundering against the victim’s mother, prosecutors Claudio Cordero and José Martínez emphasized the strength of their case. They expressed confidence that the evidence presented is sufficient for a conviction.
