Arriving at Puerto Plata airport tomorrow afternoon (19 March). Is there bus transportation to Samana? If so, what is the schedule? I tried the Caribe Tours website, but I was unable to type any origin or destination into the search function on that website, so it was not helpful. Does anyone know their schedule?

I also saw online references to El Canario (+809-291-5594) and Papagallo (+809-749-6415). Does anyone know what those are and what their schedules are for tomorrow afternoon?

Gracias!

Thank you, Manuel, but there is no schedule. Do you know where I could find a timetable/schedule?
i tried to call them but they never answer. Here is another; (they did answer)

Transporte Guingo - Samana-Puerto Plata

8293768346

They leave daily from Puerto Plata to Samana at: 5;30 am, 6:30 am and 2 pm.
The station is closed to the public Hosoital Av. Manolo Tavarez Justo, Puerto Plata.

The station is closed to the public and they don't answer their phone.
Well this is the DR after all.

Yes I realize you meant "close" and not "closed".

Good luck reaching Samana. Someone should be able to tell you where and when to wait for this elusive transport.

If you dont have big luggages, you may walk from airport to main road. Cross the road. Just catch the first public transport ( Guagua) up to Sosua Front of the gas station for 50 pesos. From there other public transport (car 6 passengers) leaving every 10 minutes toward Gaspard Hernandez -Rio San Juan 200 pesos. Tell the driver you want to go to Samana. He shall drop you in front of the minibus Station in Rio San Juan. From there take the mini bus to Nagua 150 pesos. Again when you are entering Nagua tell the driver you want to take the bus to samana. He will drop you at the public transport in Nagua downtown. From there the mini bus shall take you to Samana for 150 pesos. To cut long story short 550 pesos the airport to Samana and # 4 hours ride.

Thank you so much for the detailed information. I heard there's a direct bus from puerto to samana. It will pick up passengers at sosua Texaco gas station 7:30am in the morning. The company is Transportes Papagayo 1-829-376-8346. I called them but they speak spanish I couldn't understand. Any of you can help me call this number and confirm the information? Thanks

Hardly surprising they speak Spanish as it's the national language here. If you want someone to call the company on your behalf, you are better to ask someone where you are staying in Puerto Plata rather than strangers here.
