Hi got married on 7.7.07.

Fly out on friday and staying in Puerto Plata for 2 weeks for my honeymoon never ever been this far on holiday so going to enjoy this honeymoon.

Planner what the weather like going to be over next two weeks what can we expect ?

Congratulations Jason from the UK!!! You can expect hot and humid conditions with the occasional late afternoon shower or thunder storm! It is not likely we will get any significantly extended rainfall.

Make sure to bring lots of sunscreen, mosquitto repellant with at least 22% DEET, a small umbrella and good shoes for rainy conditions that don't slip on wet tile floors!

Good morning! We had some very dark and threatening clouds late yesterday afternoon but very little rain! Rats. We had a quick shower that lasted all of 5 minutes and was hardly enough to wet the roads! It is interesting though to drive down the roads and watch the steam come off the road from the quick rain shower! Now that is hot....

This morning we have bright blue skies but the forecast is for possible thunderstorms - somehow I don't think so.... IT is already quite hot and humid with a nice breeze!

Hi was just wondering if someone could give me a realistic picture with regard to the weather in puerta plata over the next week. My boyfriend and I are flying out on the 17th for a week. I'm really worried as I have heard that we can't expect any sun! Is this true and if the weather is really that bad are there plenty of things to do?

First of all - Charlielyn - sorry you are freezing in the far north. It is bloody hot here.

Megan - IGNORE the weather network. I have said this many many times - it is a forecast for a large area and if there is the possibility of rain - no matter how remote - it shows up as thunderstorms etc!!!! It is HOT and DRY here and we are pleading for rain. We had a short shower yesterday - lasted 5 minutes!

It has been hot and sunny for weeks! Should we get rain it is most likely later in the day and brings some welcome relief from the heat!

Today - hot, mostly sunny - we have a few clouds rolling around.

Well hoooray, we finally got some rain last night. Not a whole lot but at least some. It is somwhat cloudy today but a bit cooler then yesterday. I am not sure what is going on with the electricity - last night it was on and off all night. And even the private power company was having issues.

Is it really raining every day??

I see the forcast showing rain EVERY day for the next 2 weeks!! Is that really the case? I was planning to book a trip to Puerto Plata arriving the 28th to the 4th but don't want to get caught in rain the whole time or anything worse... Any advice?

Good morning - we have a very nice day so far. We have a few scattered clouds but mostly blue skies. It is hot about 84F already and humid but it is offset by a nice strong breeze.

To reply to your question - it is highly unlikely to rain the whole time you are here. You will probably have a couple of showere, maybe a thunderstorm or two late in the day but you will have plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine and heat here.
