Hey Vintage,

I can't find it right now but I know I read on the CIC website that the timeline statistics are based on total time - including the time processing in Toronto to be approved as a sponsor.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that Haiti works on a specific schedule to say you should hear something by a certain time.
I'm not sure if all the hurricanes passing right now might slow things down.

hello girls but that does not say where the timeline is starting from
toronto or haiti

it looks like most are processed in 8 months
but lexis seemed to go fast and mine is almost the same as hers

hey everyone today i went to my mp office.
Now that we are having an election i thik its a good time.
the meeting was very promising in on week ill be waiting six months.
the lady there told me she could find out everything .She is going to send a fax and apparently they have alot of clout.
She even suggested that by inquiring it brings the case to there attention if its just sitting there.
She also said they have the authority to give them a push so to speak to hurry up
she told me she would find out information in one week
so im very optomistic.
at least i will know how things are going
what they have received and not received and possible timelines.
I really would suggest contacting your mp if you have questions.
i waited six months

i think it will ease your mind and make things easier

ill keep you posted

thnksssssssss vintage

They seem to be asking for things a second time so whatever it is, give it to them.

I've never heard of them asking for a letter of credit before. Where those the exact words they used?

Was he asked to bring his passport?

Vintage, Do you think that their speedy action is in reply to your MP visit? What kind of photos did they ask for?

Vintage,

I'm glad you've gotten a response from Haiti. :) I've never heard of the letter of credit before. The other requests are similar to what others have been asked to submit after Haiti does the paper screening.

hi everyone
yes that was the exact words
letter of credit/bank statements/photos of me and him/the divorce minutes{there words} of my first marriage
which was when i was 19.
i was married twice .i sent them the originals of my divorce certificates
but i have no clue how to get the first one again

they want receips of money transfers if there was any and also phone bills/ emails /letters/ and anything else like that

i sent tons of this with the application
at least 50 photos

and all the emails letters and cards
so i dont have a clue why there asking again

does anyone know what happens next?

and also they did ask for his passport as well

your not going to believe this

The MP told me that written on my file is

Dominican man 34 Marries 50 Year old Canadian

incidently i was 48 when i met him.
I am not 50 He is almost thirty five.
I would say im a very lucky woman.
And im a young 50.
there is no question we are in love, but i am shocked they would write this.
I certainly hope that immigration officials would never deny an application because of age differences.
my goodness
if it was the other way around with the man being older than the woman there wouldnt be a problem....
now i am a nervous wreck

they also want the minutes of my first divorce which was 27 years ago
i was married at 16
and divorced at 19 i have no clue how to get the minutes since it was an amicable divorce with no court appearance by either party

omg im stressed

If the first divorce was in Canada you should find the paperwork in the city which it took place.

I'm not sure what Haiti means by the minutes of the divorce. Have your MP ask them exactly what they want.

Here is what I found in the website of my city

Canadian Divorce:
If a previous marriage was dissolved or annulled within Canada, the ORIGINAL or COURT CERTIFIED copy (NOT photo copies) of the Decree Absolute or Certificate of Divorce must be shown to the issuer. Please note that a Judgement issued by the Court is not acceptable proof of divorce.

Hello Vintage,

I don't mean to sound negative......but age difference is a huge red flag for immirgations, any time the women are older they will investigate further.

I can say this because I'm speaking from personal experience.....:bunny:
