Things move on! the pool man now says that he has angina, high blood pressure and is advised to have a heart operation. This has been caused by exposure to murasic acid. chlorine and other pool chemicals and that it all our fault! He tells us that he has been advised to have an operation on his heart costing pesos150,000. He has now withdrawn his desire to quit his job and wishes to continue working with the help of his son. He has worked weekly for us two days a week at a maximum of 1/2 hour a day and states that he works only for us. When we first took him on he was working for an hotel and some other households. Ultimately we have been paying him pesos 3500 a month. Over the last few months we have become increasingly suspicious that he has been cheating us. Since we stopped letting him buy our pool chemicals our consumption and costs have dropped dramatically. His latest demand is that he wants us to pay him pesos 50'000 this Friday then 30,000 per month for his treatment! Frankly all we want now is to get rid of him altogether but if, of course, he can show that we sacked him against his wishes the redundancy could be expensive. We would never get back any of the money lent him over the last few months.Any reasonable solution?

I did jihty05 and she had no conclusive answers. Either pay him his usual monthly money for 6 months or pay him nothing and see what happens. I would like to do the right thing according to the law.
