R.I.P. Lou - Lou's New York Shark Bar

Many North Coasters will remember Lou from Lou's New York Shark Bar on Pedro Clisante in Sosua. After being open for several years, it closed in 2011. Lou stayed in the DR for years after. He passed away on April 9 in New York. He will be remembered as a great guy who loved talking and always smiling. His "How are you baby?" will live on forever.

Lou was a Sosua legend. He started with a bar on the beach and then moved onto Pedro Clisante. Was a fixture for so many years. Always a great host and a great guy.

Met him in Spring of 2012.
Would see him in and out of Sosua back in 2013. He gave me some good advice when it came to living in the DR.
Stand up guy.

You were the First real Friend I made in Sosua. The Moment I stepped in your Bar I knew you were the real deal. NYPD and a stand up guy. Someone you could trust for advice and talk to . Shark Bar was like the “ Cheers” of Sosua, everyone knew your name.

You will be dearly missed. Til we meet again.
