OP...IF you were inclined to stop WU payment to this young woman, what exactly do you bring to the table?? You don't live here so you are super anxious and look at snapshots of her buying food. OK...what else? You are not here for her kids. You are not here to support her when times are tough for her. You are not here for emergencies or social events that you could enjoy together .
You are older than her and may have other directions in life.

So, I ask again...What do YOU bring to the table?? Maybe, just maybe, she is legit. If so step up or step out. You alone need to make this decision not advise from grumpy old men.
What I have to offer her is love, concern, compassion, empathy and self esteem which she is lacking in her life. I give her a sense of equality and self worth. Sometimes when she is depressed and sad I make her realize things that make her feel good about herself and life (which is pretty miserable). I help with with learning English. I keep in contact with her kids when the mother is living apart. I am not physically present for emergencies but I share in the grief with her. True, I am not here yet for social activities but she sends me pictures. I am doing the best I can from afar. I intend to step up very shortly and provide a physical presence in her life. Give us a change. Yes, its against all odds but sometimes the longshots come in and the always bring the best reward

I tried to use recharge and it only accepts payments for minutes and not data usuage.
I use Recharge all the time. Your gf will receive the amount in pesos you select as credit on her phone. She can use that to make regular calls, or allocate however much she wants towards internet.

With Recharge you can select the Dominican Republic which will start with a +1. Just add the 10 digit number - usually starting with 809 0r 829. It really doesn't get much easier than this. Usually takes me less than a minute.

Read post 28 again Ken
I reread and it said it requires cell service with data... So does that mean that Recharge only allows you to add minutes and not data... When you select data it say

Yes, that's the way all the phones work here no matter which carrier it is. When you get a "recarga", you are putting a credit on the phone. That credit can be used immediately to make regular calls, or you can select the amount of data for internet that you want - frequently referred to as a "paquetico".

It's very cheap. For 49 pesos(subtracted from the credit on the phone), you can get 1 day of unlimited data internet usage with Altice - 3 days for 99 pesos, and 5 days for 139 pesos. You can't beat it!

while it's unlimited, it's 1 GB of data at regular/high speed, and after that the "unlimited portion" is at 32 Kbps which is not even enough to send a whatsapp message.

I don't know about other carriers, but that's not the case with Altice at all. When the power goes out and my gf doesn't have her regular internet, she watches Netflix and YouTube movies and music videos on her iPhone for hours with no problem at all.

That all sounds very nice and self righteous.

But honestly all she wants is your "help" (aka money).

Also be careful you are not the only person providing help, abroad or locally.
