I just read this yesterday, interesting. The Jalao restaurant is also at the hotel. May go and have a look in a couple of weeks.

I was amazed at how much I connected mentally with the things he wrote. It almost sounds like the hotel is owned by someone who has a lot of experience running cabañas in the DR.

It looks like a very good hotel. Not very central to tourism but the train station is close. I have been to the area several times (relatives) and there are several very good restaurants and bars in the area. I will go in a couple of weeks and see as everyone I am visiting wants to eat at Jalao. I do want to see the art they have in the lobby. Nothing wrong with something different outside of the tourist area.
