The water feature in most of them that I have seen here (mine included) is just a 2 liter reservoir on the door panel that you manually fill to have cold water on demand.
If you choose to fill it this way, I assume you fill the reservoir from inside the door...is the access simple? Do you have to remove any of the door shelves to do so? 2 liters isn't much, so I could see needing to refill every day or so.

Yes from the inside section of the door when you open it, pop open a small cap and add the water, very simple. You do lose high shelf space because of it, given the choice I would not buy another one with that again

I would go with the inverter fridge. With all the power fluctuations it will help keep a consistent amount of power to all the electrical components inside the fridge. To me it was well worth the extra expense

Don't know where the OP is located But Unidos in SD or PC has some good prices on Samsung and others. Be aware what Cavok said above, and Mabe is OK, but it is on the cheaper end. I would lean Samsung ahead and it will not have a problem with electric either...........

Samsung with or without inverter?
All I can tell you is that any Samsung will work as good as any. When the power goes out and comes on again you will have no problems...............

Hi Jan
You don't need to cross the bridge, the closest shop to you is super Ole, they sell fridges too. You can go to Megacentro there you find Jumbo and Garrido and in front of Megacentro Corripio. If you didn't find anything what fix for you, go to Aut. San Isidro, Sirena, Jumbo, Lama, Carrefour, Casa Cuesta, Coral Mall and more Shops who all sell fridges, all in walking distance less than 2 miles. And if you can wait to Black Friday you would get many offers.

Here is my water pump with a filter .. I hope they observers approve:cool:
The major difference is low startup consumption: in the wold system your refrigerator would consume 1500 watts but requires 2 or 3 times that to start then become stable at 1500 watts. If you have solar panels and inverters that refrigerator and other devices similar to that would require a lot of panels.
If you do not have solar panels then your consumption would be high.
The same if you use A/C if they are inverter the consumption is less and you can run them with solar panels at a lower cost.

I would add L&R to that list. We have held off on the refrig while all else is being done on the house. We're about ready and going with a Samsung side by side. All stores we have gone to delivery. The difference between stores has been 10,000 pesos. That changes with the stars sun and the moon (and also holiday specials).

I got my stove at Jorge Muebles which is a few blocks away. I need to save up some more cash before I can buy anything. I was just trying to collect information and do my research about inverter and non inverter types.
