The Migration Agency (DGM) has consolidated Migration, Customs and new Public Health forms in one, the e-ticket. This electronic ticket is required for the entry and exit of the Dominican Republic. It is obligatory as of 1 September 2021. The form is relatively easy to fill out. Once the data is entered, a QR code is generated that the traveler can print out or save on a smart phone.

Resolution DJ-009/2021 of the Ministry of Tourism ordered the implementation of the electronic ticket. The filing of the ticket is obligatory to clear Migration. Airlines will not book passengers that have not filed the ticket.

How soon, before you actually, do you fill this out ?
At least before coming to the airport.. I'm currently in POP airport, and there are soooooo many people that is having to try to do the ticket before migration and before check-in.. so yes, no more paper at all, if you don't fill it out, then your not going passed migration, that's just it. So if you want to avoid annoyed airport personnel and trying to fill it out on poor phone/wifi connection, then do it at home at least before you leave for the airport.

Maybe you got lucky(?). Check out "How many days in advance should I fill out the form" on the official government website:

I did it like a week before my flight.

When checking your flight number, time and such, there was a prompt and a link on the website of the airline company that took me to the DR gov site for the eTicket.

I'm not saying you can't do it - just what the government says you should do. It might not be long before, just like on the DGM site for residency renewal, you won't be able to do it more than 3 days prior.

I just filled it out for both my wife and I. It took less than 10 minutes.
Hope it works when we get back on Sunday.

Did it for a friend last week, had trouble with birthday. Until I figure out when the calendar appears you have to click on the year then a scroll down menu appears to chose the year. Also there was no choice for the Hotel where my friend was staying at so just selected an other near by.

The rest was straight forward. Fist time always a bit difficult because there is no good instruction so you have to just try things.

PLaying around on the eticket site it seems you can complete the form up to two months before departing the DR and receive your QR code. At least the flight date seems to be limited to two months in the future. I didn't try to fill in the form for an arrival. How far in advance of their departure flight has anyone completed the eticket form and had no problems using it at the airport?

About two months give or take a week. I fly often and whenever I make my reservation I fill out the E Ticket both ways . The idea of 72 hours is just another DR1 myth..............Just to add the Govt. has considerably fixed the site. Easy in both English and Spanish....
