I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I had a large sum with him and needed it to complete a house purchase.
He had told me on numerous occasions I could get my money back at any time I wanted, and I suspect that's why he gave it back.
He was reluctant to do it, but I insisted.

Spent sometime chatting with HB one afternoon here in Santiago over a few beers at a local colmado.
This fella knows more about the DR than anyone else I've met since I moved down here, including Dominicans.
A stand up guy. I hope he is doing well.
