I do have a simple question.
How long in advance I can start the process for renewing the Residencia?

Is the new Residencia as well valid only for one year (like the first initial one) or is it for a longer period of time?

Thank you

There is no advantage in starting it early because it's good for one year from the day you renew, so if you renew early you lose that time off your previous year. Yes it is only for a year each time until you can apply for a permanent.

I renewed last April and my residency is valid for four years.

D.Rep and Celt,
Our Lawyer has advised the the process of renewing permanent residency should start about 45 days prior to expiry. The period of validity varies - non-retired persons -4 years , retired persons only 2 years but like everything here that could be subject to change.

D.Rep,
Another factor our lawyer told the Team is that your passport must be valid for at least 18 months more when applying for renewal of permanent residency.
