Hello All

Has anyone of you seen this on DIRECCION GENERAL DE MIGRACION Facebook wall?

Would it mean that expats will not need any more to go the main offices in Santo Domingo to get renewals of Residencias? What about the Cedulas?

They say Punta offices will start next week, and Puerto Plata and Santiago, will later on.

To good to be true! That would save us a lot of time!

That would save us time and money for sure but I suspect this is a red herring and trips to SD to JCE will still be required

I'm in the middle of the process now, (permanent renewal), it has ALL been done online up till now, requested medical was done at La Referencia & Punta Cana Doctors in PC this morning - I've been told I will not need to go to the Capital to receive my card.

I'm not sure about Cedula renewal, will know that in a few days when I get my next appointment.

More to come...

I'm doing exactly the same process now. They sent me to Puerto Plata for the medical, but have now given me an appointment in Santo Domingo as usual.

I had the same experience at drstock. All online, medical in Puerto Plata and was told no appointment was necessary in Puerto Plata for medical (was true) and then an appt was set for me to come to SD and was so notified online. My appt was for 2 pm, I was there at 8 am and on the way home with residency and cedula in hand at 11.
