It does not need to be a return ticket. It must be a ticket leaving the DR to any other country, not nesisarilly the country that you are boarding from.
I meant a one way ticket from DR to Miami. It does not need to be a return ticket ! One way leaving the DR is good enough and there are plenty of options for a ticket that can be canceled without any fee. Usually they are more expensive but who cares if you cancel anyway.
And i thought that i'm the smart one. THANKS !!!!!!!! This is amazingJust use this. Works like a charm............

Do the airlines accept a return ticket that's 1 year ahead, when checking in for a one way flight to the DR?
Read post 12. She could have done this.Just today the Dominican niece of a close friend traveling with her daughter minor has been denied to check in at JFK because for her daughter she didn't has return ticket, her daughter is not Dominican.
Thanks, I was going to suggest my friend to tell her to buy one ticket with fully refund, but they booked a flight and not sure what option they picked up, I didnt see on time when my friend texted me to ask me for help. Wi will send the post anyway for next time.Read post 12. She could have done this.

My last trip to the DR from Newark in March, on Jetblue at boarding I was asked if I had a return ticket. I said yes, and they let me board without checking anything. Regardless, this was a first, so when I fly back to Santiago in August, I'll be sure to be ready to by a refundable return ticket for 90 days out (my usually staying time) just in case. From Europe directly to the DR they have always checked for a return ticket. Via the US never. Last trip was a planned overstay with a valid return ticket (almost 3 months later). I even put the late return date in the immigration Eticket. No red flags for that at check-in and immigration.
It seems a return ticket is checked but not the actual date of return. Or it is not important for immigration.
That seems to be the Case ,, and if they have multiple People with this Scenario , they will make an example out of you in front of everyone else .I think out of all the airlines the one that is more likely NOT to care if you have a return ticket or Not is JETBLUE
WHY do you say THAT?I think out of all the airlines the one that is more likely NOT to care if you have a return ticket or Not is JETBLUE
When you make a reservation/purchase ticket on the Jet Blue website only one-way, there is a warning that comes up about needing proof of a return ticket. So yes, Jet Blue does care.I think out of all the airlines the one that is more likely NOT to care if you have a return ticket or Not is JETBLUE
because I have 23 One way flights without ever having issues about NOT having return flight to USAWHY do you say THAT?
WAIT! 23 flights WITHOUT an issue? What about your latest flights NOW?because I have 23 One way flights without ever having issues about NOT having return flight to USA
