When you make a reservation/purchase ticket on the Jet Blue website only one-way, there is a warning that comes up about needing proof of a return ticket. So yes, Jet Blue does care.
You may need proof of return travel
Proof of return travel is often a requirement for one-way international flights like this. Please check with your destination country’s embassy to confirm their specific requirements. We don't want you to experience any difficulties at the airport.

Travel hack: You can pay for a bus ticket to Haiti online. Proof you are leaving the country in 30 days that can be shown to your airline AND immigration upon arrival.
The point is the warning is there. No one can complain if they do have an issue with a one-way ticket somewhere down the line. That is great you have had no issues but that is you. Not everyone has the same experience. That is why I would never advise anyone that they do not need a return ticket if required, you just never know. The Jetblue website has always said that. In seven years of traveling to the DR, I was only asked once when I was returning, and that without having to offer proof of a return ticket.
Aren't you of Dominican heritage or I am confusing you with another DR1 member? Didn't you say that you have "family" who are "ranked" high in the DR Airforce? Having Dominican citizenship, etc, would not require you to have a return ticket if of course that is the case.because I have 23 One way flights without ever having issues about NOT having return flight to USA

Yes you are right about me ; however I never tell them am Dominican as well ( dual citizenship) when I arrive in DR OR when I buy flight ticket …. And yet all my JetBlue flight are always one way …. That’s is why I made the comment that JetBlue are very flexible about weather or NOT their customers have one way ticketsAren't you of Dominican heritage or I am confusing you with another DR1 member? They are not at all flexible about the weather!Yes you are right about me ; however I never tell them am Dominican as well ( dual citizenship) when I arrive in DR OR when I buy flight ticket …. Again, I would never recommend to anyone not to have a RT or backup plan. You never know and the last thing anyone wants is a problem at the airport. As for Jet Blue being "flexible", well they are until they are not.Yes you are right about me ; however I never tell them am Dominican as well ( dual citizenship) when I arrive in DR OR when I buy flight ticket …. Have you done this? And can you provide proof or a link confirming that this does work?Travel hack: You can pay for a bus ticket to Haiti online. Proof you are leaving the country in 30 days that can be shown to your airline AND immigration upon arrival.
They will laugh at you.....................Have you done this? And can you provide proof or a link confirming that this does work?
YesHave you done this?
I can provided the information on the Bus compnay have previously purchased a ticket from before. And can you provide proof or a link confirming that this does work?
WELL first let me say that it is a Good idea actually very good idea when you think about the fact that hardly anyone have ever thought of this loophole ( Bus ticket to Haiti ) …. HOWEVER the airlines will probably won’t accept it as proof given the facts that they can’t confirmed that it’s valid as they would with a flight confirmation ticket which they do have a way to confirm .Yes
I can provided the information on the Bus compnay have previously purchased a ticket from before.
I welcome suggestions on how I can prove to you that it works. Just let me know what proof you are looking for.
Wouldn't I have to provide "my proof" to the airline I am flying with at the ticket counter upon check in and at immigration upon arrival at SDQ?View attachment 9466
I fly AA regularly, they will require it.If I ever go back to the USA it would be interesting. I've always flown AA and they never required a return ticket. However, my last entrance was September of 2020 and I understand things change.
Since 2019, I always did a round trip from SDQ to STL to SDQ. I wonder what will happen now.
They probably won’t laugh ; they will be confused and probably won’t know what to do and will end up saying we can NOT accept this sir …. They will be in my opinion breaking protocol/Regulation/Law by Not accepting the bus ticket as proofThey will laugh at you.....................
Actually Jetblue was one of the FIRST airlines to require it,they required it of me 15 years ago.I think out of all the airlines the one that is more likely NOT to care if you have a return ticket or Not is JETBLUE
I think the system All Airlines have access to and that they can confirm “e-confirmations” is strictly for airlines tickets worldwide NOT a local independent bus company ,The bus company gives you a e-ticket confirmation the same as with a plane ticket. I was asked if I ever did it (as if everyone has to prove what they say is a fact up in here).
If I got any push back from a gate agent I would push it up the ladder. The burden proof is on them that my form of transportation is invalid. They do not get to choose how I leave the country. I could get on a cruise ship if I wanted.
When you purchase a ticket you have to disclose your citizenship and passport number. They can see that and that is why you aren't asked.Yes you are right about me ; however I never tell them am Dominican as well ( dual citizenship) when I arrive in DR OR when I buy flight ticket ….
