in returning to usa a negative test is required . is that the pcr testing or is another test needed? also within 3 days if traveling on the 25th do i have to get test done on the 22nd ?
i know there has been a lot of posting on this but am just making sure as i am going out of puerto plata

Why get a PCR test that is more expensive and might cause you to miss a flight when all that is
is needed is a quicker and cheaper antigen test to enter the USA?
Why would anyone flying to the US bother with a PCR test since it is less practical?

The CDC of the USA has stated that anyone fully vaccinated no longer has to wear a mask. Period.
Dr. Fauci has stated that children should be back in school. Period.

Is it safe? CV19 is here, there and everywhere to stay. Nowhere is nor will anywhere ever be "safe".
Any vaccination seems to prevent death and that is about all that can be done.

in cabarete and the lab quoted 3 2800 pesos i guess i need to check how long the results. has anybody dne it a puertoplata airport?

Centro Medico Dr Bournigal in Puerto Plata has a special center across the street just for testing for foreigners. The cost is RD$2000. Results in 5 hours via email. The results actually arrived earlier than that, while I was dining that evening.

To repeat, the USA requires only the simpler, cheaper and faster Antigen test.

The PCR test is not required to enter the USA, but will also work but it costs more and takes longer meaning it may not be available in time for your flight.

Some labs were saying they were giving a PCR Antigen test, which might mislead some people.

Just came back from my hotel in Sosua...2 nurses came every day to give the tests.......
