Romantic nicknames in Spanish

Here is a list of romantic nicknames in Spainish. After watching the video, I think all are common except the last one. I have never heard it - churri.

I think (my opinion) Spanish language and culture uses more terms of endearment than English and I am not saying English does not but I just think Spanish uses them so much more and very openly. You hear words used in a non romantic way with strangers, friends, close relationships then of course in a relationship. Sentiments are expressed more readily. As well, from a language perspective you know you are connected when you use the words or expressions correctly as well as feel the connection when others use them with you.

Exacto in Latin America in general. It is primarily cariño. In my experience, it is the non-Spanish speakers who just look up the translation and then start with es muy malo. Such a cultural and linguistic disconnect IMO.

The only problem I have with "mi amor" is that the putas overuse it. So it has a negative connotation to me. When I hear it, I mentally translate it as "RUN!"

Too funny. You just told me something about your lifestyle . Actually, mi amor is sincere in my opinion and it is used a lot as a term of endearment across the board. Even a stranger will say to you if you ask a question, no mi amor....and not a lady of the night

Seriously though there are many terms of endearment used in Spanish that hit home (en el corazón)
IMO.

I learned it on here. I did google it and they translate it as whore.
