Most Dominicans would MUCH PREFER to be taken to an American "Fast Food Franchise Rest." than the finest Upscale in their town.
When their friends ask where you took them, if they say "Maison de le Shee Shee",which they have never heard of, their friends will shake their heads, look down, and frown.
If you say "Friday's", or even "KFC", or Burger King, they will all smile and nod their approval,They have HEARD of THAT!!!!!!!

A well known "Brand Name", in ANYTHING, trumps quality in the DR!!!!!!

"POLLO VICTORINA"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF THESE ARE POOR "CAMPESINOS", and it seems they might be, it will be a big waste of their time, and your money to take them"High End Dining".
Really!
No offense intended!
Over 20 years ago I took by new bride, and about 15 family members to "Vesuvios" here in SD.
They ALL ordered either shrimp, or lobster, then just picked at it.
GO FOR A CHEAP DINNER, THEN TO A DISCO WITH A GOOD SHOW, AND PAY FOR THE DRINKS.
that, WILL MAKE THEM ALL HAPPY!
ccccccccccccccccccccccccc

Good point thank you

Sp true.

Couple of days a go, we went to business dinner at a Italian restaurant in Santiago and my co-workers's wife was just picking at the foods she was ordering. She isn't fat as cow but it looks like she would likely eat plate full of habichuelas con arroz and ask for half plate full. Everyone including waitress was asking if food isn't any good but she said everything were delicious.

La Antillana Restaurant, if you are taking your bride's family out for dinner this will be the perfect place as you will be able to have a private area asigned just for you... A tipical Terraza de Cana.

Pizzeria La Antillana

How about Mr. Grilled across from Bravo supermarket? There'll be another one on 27 Febrero across from Banco Popular in January. It's the cool new place to go.

As for Camp David, it's a great place for a romantic lunch or dinner, but not for the whole family. The food is overpriced and not as good as other more "local" places.

i have always enjoyed the mountain retreat rest...food good to better breeze (sit inside) after 4pm...) prices moderate....i always complained about the price of the single 12oz cervesa. we would have a couple or few of them,,,
