I appoligize for being more then aggressive with Pichardo. But I think that my point has been made.

MY aggresive behavior is my own and should not reflect the opinion or stance of others that are working so hard for the kids at the orphange.

I'm my own "agent".

thank you

There are far more private hospitals and health centers in the DR than there are public Hospitals, educate yourself on that fact!

I never said that there were not far more private hospitals and health centers in the DR than there were public hospitals. Have you been in a public hospital in the DR? I don’t see many pictures posted of the resources available in public hospitals here. But let us continue the discussion on shopping malls.

Oh! So they don't understand supply and demand as you do, since they are far more ignorant than you, based on your superior education?

That makes sense! I heard only stupid, ignorant people make millions they can invest and like fools, lose it all quick in the DR. You know it's the pattern of the middle and upper classes of the DR!

I tell them t go to your US based schools before they lose their millions for being too ignorant o the supply/demand thingy!

Ah! Let's see:

How many Malls have shut down in the DR since built?

???? ????? ????? ????????? ???????? ???????????

Sorry! I'm too ignorant about supply and demand, but I think, just think! I have yet to see or hear of the first one closing their doors for lack of biz as of yet (don't take my word for it, since I'm an ignorant Dominican while at it).

Time will tell how successful these malls are. As more Dominicans shop online for products from around the world, the success of shopping malls will decrease. Do you not understand this?

In the US, not that it is relevant here, many people do not shop in malls, but rather they shop on line.

Ahhhhhh! So IN THE USA people mostly shop online, rather than in Malls? Wow!
So? Where exactly that links to the DR. I mean we're talking about the DR wasn't it?
I'm confused now!?! Or are we comparing to the USA here?!?!?! Ah! That must be it!
Sorry! I'm kind of slow!

I have found that 90 percent of the time it is more cost effective to import an item than it is to purchase it here. Here being the DR.

Imagine that! You a foreigner! Living in the DR finds it cheaper to import directly than buying it as the same place 90% of Dominicans MUST buy their stuff with their lower pesos wages! Boy!

The absolute cost of an item does not have to do with peso wages versus dollars or euros. What does it have to do with 90% of Dominicans? I said 90% of the time it is cheaper to import and item than it is to purchase it here.

Perhaps your ignorance of this entire situation is because you don’t live in the DR while I do.
This point you want to ignore in favor of shopping malls that I have learned is that it is less expensive to import items such as appliances and electronics than it is to purchase them locally. You don’t live with this issue because you live in the US. The stores in the US are feeling the competition from Internet shopping. Maybe that competition will never happen in the DR, but I think it will as more people here understand the benefits. Even a Dominican with peso wages would find the price to be less if they imported the same items I am importing. Your comment about peso wages makes no sense at all in this context since anyone can save money ordering online. It is free to set up an account with the freight forwarders I currently use.

I live in the DR and I can import quantity ONE cheaper than I can buy it in the mall.

So, since you can import cheaper than 90% of Dominicans, it's a God Blessing! Poor Dominican folks! paying those rip off prices at the Malls~!

Yes they are paying rip off prices. And often for reconditioned products sold as new. The Chinese products imported into the DR available at places like La Sirena are inferior in general to the items available a low end retailer like WalMart in the US. I suggest that if that Dominican population were aware of this, the mall building would be slowed to a crawl if not stopped entirely. But that would require the Dominican population to be educated on how to make the best deal in today's world economy. They do not currently have that knowledge. Either that or they don’t care.

Wait! Are you for real! So Dominicans are a bunch of fools for paying Mall prices!

That is one way of putting it. I would say they are currently not aware of the money they would save and the convenience of shopping online and having the items delivered directly to their homes. Some of your countrymen have figured this out and that is why the Door to Door shipping business exists from New York and Florida to the DR. I am only taking advantage of your countrymen’s efforts. It is much more convenient and less expensive.

Wait! Wait! Let me get this right! Dominicans are fools for not importing their stuff directly instead of buying at the Malls. So help me here a bit (I'm a bit slow on this! Sorry):

Yes, what is it you don’t understand about paying less for something and having it shipped directly to your door by shopping for it on the Internet rather than going to a mall?

Back home in the USA Americans import most of their stuff directly home and also avoid paying those rip off online and Mall prices! Wow! That's a lot of goods on the mail directly to their homes from China!

Directly from China at times and through online retailers like Ebay, Tiger Direct, Amazon.com and many, many more. Of course you know all this and must seem to think it is not significant and having no impact on brick and mortar stores.

Wow! Americans are really smart! I guess you're right, compared to how well educated in importing directly their goods from abroad Americans are, Dominicans have a light years to catch up to!

I know you are trying to make a joke about online ordering and failing badly at that, but to ignore that extremely fast growing online market and think that it will not have a major impact on brick and mortar stores like shopping malls is failing to see reality.

I am a free market capitalist and a libertarian. I applaud anyone that starts a business. I hope that all of the malls that are in the DR succeed, but I suspect they are dinosaurs that will not.

I guess you're right, given how many Malls have been shut down in the DR since forever... I mean there's one closed on every corner! All empty and losing bucks like crazy!

Have you been to Plaza Naco? Truly dead and on extinction like the dinosaurs...

I am over two hours away from the closest of any of your beloved malls, so unfortunately I cannot directly comment on the vast business they currently do on a moment by moment basis. But when I do visit shopping malls in the DR from time to time it only reinforces my decision to buy online and have it shipped directly to me. If your countrymen like to go to a mall and pay more, then that is their decision.
