President Danilo Medina led the inaugural ceremony for the missing section of the Juan Bosch or Santo Domingo ring road on Wednesday, 15 July 2020. The final stretch completes the 53.5 km Santo Domingo ring road.

Speaking at the inauguration, Public Works Minister Ramón Pepín said that the Santo Domingo bypass connects the three regions of the country – the north, southwest and the east. Pepín spoke of the significant savings in travel time and vehicle operating costs for users of the new road.

The bypass facilitates the transfer of goods by connecting the two main ports of the country, Haina and Caucedo Multimodal, the Las Americas International Airport, and the main industrial zones. I suppose this is just the official opening ceremony, because the road itself had been open for a while.

Can we enter SD by this road or is it a true 'bypass'

Would be nice to exit the toll road and get downtown faster

Any maps yet....?

Ive been to a lot of cities in the world and Santo Domingo has some of the worst traffic ive ever seen. Hopefully this helps.
